What happened with Wangwi league which should be started by now (in the past usually by March..)? It was discontinued just like former Myeongin league?
It seems that the trend now is to emphasize lightning tournaments, which more and more replace the regular tournaments (with 3-5 hours per game)..
Maybe the lightning Erectron Cup replaced Wangwi?

The Wangwi league appears to be replaced by a single-elimination format tournament, which is currently ongoing. According to the Korean Baduk Association web site, the tournament is now called "KT Cup Wangwi tournament". So it is likely that the old Wangwi tournament and the old KT Cup tournament has been merged. The current term is '39th', an obvious continuation to the old Wangwi tournament. Hopefully some game records can come out soon.
